5 Easy Tips To Get Out Of A Funk

It’s that time of year – family is gathering, lights are up, cozy fires are burning, Miracle on 34th St is on Amazon Prime…

But for each of those heart warming signs of the coming holiday, you also have political discussions with Uncle Al that make you want to jam green bean casserole in your ears so you don’t have to hear another word, the neighbors monstrosity of an inflated snow globe that deflates onto your driveway every night, and the endless list of things you need to do, buy, fix and bake before the kids are out of school and you can no longer accomplish anything ever again. Until January… Sweet, sweet January.

All that to say… December can be pretty overwhelming. And I don’t know about you, but my favorite way to deal with the feeling that nothing will ever get done is to bury myself deep into a pile of blankets, pillows, cheese burgers and Gilmore Girls (I haven’t finished the revival. No spoilers please!)

But wallowing and regret and self-pity will only lead down a road of self-destruction. Not only is this bad for your psyche, but it’s bad for your beautiful bod! Stress doesn’t just give you crow’s feet, it can affect everything from your immune system to how well you digest and use the food you eat!

That’s why I’ve come up with some sure-fire ways to get you out of the depths of despair (Anne of Green Gables is great for wallowing, too! 😉 ) and feeling like your “I can do it!” self again.

Follow these tips, and you’ll be getting things done with a smile in no time!

What’s your favorite way to de-stress and get motivated? How do you deal with a to-do list that mocks you with its empty check boxes and condescending *ding!*s on your phone reminding you of all your past-due hopes and dreams? Let me know in the comments! We can all use all the help we can get! 😉

You are awesome, Friend! Love the tips! Love your shirt too! 🙂

  2. Getting some fresh air definitely helps a lot! But I hardly get time to go out given that I have a 3 month old who just won’t sit in any stroller! I guess the older she grows the better it will be for me..
But for now, I only stick to a few yoga poses to de stress myself and it does help a great deal!

  3. Whenever I feel like I need some motivation or a pick me up I put my gym gear, sneakers and headphones on and walk.
